In my experience, many agents get super excited about starting their farm. I’ve seen it all before. They dump a ton of time, energy, and resources into their farm when they get started. (As you should!) But after a while, a lot of agents start to lose traction. They stop doing what worked because they get busy with the business they generate. They struggle to do what worked before because they are busy. So they focus on the “right now”. Then they start to lose traction again. And If you are like these agents, you may have experienced this.  You may be wondering how to stay relevant in your farm? How can you balance the workload and keeping your market share? Am I right?

Stay Relevant In Your Farm - Launch Your Farm

Well, there is some good news and some bad news, and I’m going to give you both today.

The Good News

The good news is that it’s not that difficult to stay relevant in your farm if you are willing to do what it takes. If you’ve already invested this much time and energy, it’s not that difficult to keep it going.

The Bad News

The bad news is that you need to get out of your own way. So many agents stop themselves from continuous success in their farm because they have an issue with letting go of control. They feel that THEY are the ONLY ones who can do what they do. So they start off with a lot of gusto and effort and it pays off, but then they quickly burn out because there is only so much time in the day for you to do these things AND sell real estate.

The Really Good News!

I didn’t warn you about the really good news because I wanted to make sure you were still reading! The really good news is that you can outsource a lot of the work that needs to be done so that you can focus on the things that help keep you relevant and growing the farm. Check out one of our past articles The 4 D’s to help give you a head start!

The Really Bad News!!!

I bet you didn’t see that one coming either! The really bad news is that you have to give up that control to actually gain control. The agents who put their faith in the growth process and are willing to get out of their way have something in common. They aren’t driven by ego and they are willing to admit that others can do things better than them.

If you disagree with me, you can just stop reading right now and go back to your regularly scheduled life and I wish you all the best with your farm.

But the ones who are willing to step back, put the RIGHT people in place and allow the system to grow bigger than them, and bigger than their ego will never have a problem staying relevant in their farm.

That is because when you take yourself out of the picture, its so much easier to put the community first and to look for opportunities that can serve them. If you are stuck thinking that you are the only one who can do the work, and that your whole business runs on your back, you will only make it so far.

This is more important that the right post card, or the right script. Its critical for your success.

Conclusion

You may have come here expecting to read an article about strategies to stay relevant, but the reality is that if you are in your own way, it doesn’t matter what strategies you use, you will stop yourself from growing, and will only reach so many people in your farm. If you are more worried about people seeing your face than serving your community, then you will never truly reach a level where your business grows organically and thrives.

So, to answer the initial question… If you want to stay relevant in your farm, then make your community relevant in all that you do.

Happy Farming!
